Built in 1878 and once a Victorian workhouse, Brynafon Hotel is now a beautiful and unusual family-run holiday retreat with great character and charm. Steeped in history and coming alive with a warm and friendly atmosphere. Catering for weddings, conferences, family/group celebrations, short breaks or just B&B.
Each of the Hotel’s 18 en-suite bedrooms are individually styled and are available in standard, deluxe or family size. Some rooms are pet friendly. We have the popular "Workhouse" restaurant and bar boasting an excellent range of local and organic produce. Open all day every day we serve breakfast, lunch, afternoon teas, Welsh Tapas and evening dinner. We have four confernece rooms which cater from between 4-40 delegates. A large car park and lock up facilities for bicycles is available.
Surrounded by the Cambrian Hills, set against the dramatic backdrop of Gwastwedyn Hill and druid's circle; a stone's throw from the River Wye; next door to Gigrin Farm where some 200 Red Kites are fed daily and found next to the beautiful yet largely undiscovered Elan Valley, the area is excellent for horse riding, cycling, walking, fly-fishing, clay-pigeon shooting, bird-watching.

If more than 48 hours notice is given then no cancellation fees apply.
Should the room be cancelled within this period then the full cost will be charged. If cancelled but rearranged for another date, cancellation fee will be waived.
