Balmain Wharf Apartments

With only four serviced apartments within this historic sandstone building, we offer an exclusive location on the Balmain East peninsula with panoramic views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and convenient public transport access. Originally the Shipwrights Arms Hotel for 140 years, in 2011 we restored the façade and converted the interior into luxury apartments. All apartments have views of the harbour and Sydney Harbour Bridge, and are individually decorated with designer style and modern facilities. The apartments are ideal for holidays and long term stays.

Balmain Village, 700m away, is a vibrant historic center loved by Sydneysiders for its heritage pubs, weekend markets and bohemian mix of boutiques, patisseries and restaurants. Explore the natural beauty of Sydney Harbour by boarding the scenic ferry right at our doorstep. The Circular Quay to Darling Harbour route travels under the Sydney Harbour Bridge past the Opera House. The 442 bus is 20 minutes to the Queen Victoria Building in the shopping district of the city.

BOOKING POLICY
Typical minimum stay period is 7 nights.

We welcome enquiries for long stays. If part of your desired dates are not available to book on the calendar, we can offer another apartment for part of your stay, if available. Please phone our friendly receptionists for advice.

We only accept bookings made more than 24 hours in advance.

RATES
All rates quoted on this site are subject to availability. All rates are inclusive of 10% GST and quoted in Australian dollars. By using the rates quoted on this site you agree with and abide by these Terms and Conditions. Rates as quoted are per room per night on a room only basis, unless specified.

An additional tariff up to 15% may be added to stays shorter than our typical minimum stay.
Minimum lengths of stay apply during special event periods, as determined by Balmain Wharf Apartments.
Rates may increase without notice due to any changes in or the imposition of government charges taxes or levies. The rates are subject to change without notice until booking is paid in full Guests will be notified where possible of any increases.

ADVANCED BOOKINGS
Balmain Wharf Apartments will not guarantee or confirm a booking or reservation made more than 365-days (1-Year) prior to arrival. Requests and booking expression of interests can be registered; however no guarantee on availability or rate can be made. Balmain Wharf Apartments reserves the right to reject with reasonable notice any and all bookings made beyond 365-days.

PAYMENTS

The full amount up to 1 week of accommodation plus a $200 bond is required on all bookings. Payment is then taken in advance on a weekly basis.

Credit cards accepted: MasterCard, Visa (0.95% surcharge will apply).

Valid credit card details will be required on check in and will be used to cover incidentals such as breakages, excessive cleaning charges, etc. Valid photo ID is also required upon check in.

SECURITY BOND and CREDIT CARD AUTHORISATION
A credit card authorisation (pre-authorisation) will be required upon booking to cover incidental items such as (but not limited to):
•Any breakages or damage incurred during your stay.
•Any excessive cleaning charges, above the normal level of cleaning due to the apartment being left in an unacceptable state or additional servicing / cleaning charges.

Please note this process validates the presented credit card, and protects both the cardholder and merchant from increasing fraud incidents. We may pre-authorise a credit card for any charges we determine that the guest may be likely to consume during their stay. This may also include an amount to cover a security bond / deposit for damages. The pre-authorised amount is set aside by the credit card company for a period of up to 10-days. The pre-authorisation will affect your available funds and / or spending limit. For more information on this practice we suggest the cardholder contact their card issuer.
Once a pre-authorisation has been made, we cannot release, remove or lower the authorised amount, until we process the final account on departure. This is a restriction placed on us by the bank and cannot be negotiated. The pre authorised amount will be equivalent to one night of accommodation plus a $200 cleaning bond. Please note that we accept, Visa, Mastercard and American Express cards only.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Cancellations must be made in writing to seint@balmainwharf.com.au and will receive a receipt of cancellation.

Cancellation within 48 hours of arrival will forfeit the full accommodation cost of the first 7 days of the booking.
Cancellation within 7 days of arrival will forfeit full deposit (less $200 cleaning bond)
Cancellation after arrival for reservations that are less than 28 days will forfeit 14 days full payment.
Cancellation after arrival for reservations more than 28 days will be required to forfeit 50% of the total booking. This will also be assessed on a case by case basis for long term bookings

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE

Check in is from 2.00pm. -Please buzz the right hand side green door when you arrive.

Late Check Ins - Please contact us on 0431951949 if you are arriving after 5pm. We have late check in instructions that we can email through to you.

Luggage Storage
Our office can arrange storage of luggage for guests.

PARKING
One parking permit is allocated for each apartment for the duration of the booking. Unfortunately no additional parking permits are available.

CONDITIONS

NON-SMOKING ROOMS
All rooms are non-smoking inside, ashtrays are provided for outside use only. Any traces of residual smoke inside will incur an additional cleaning charge of $200. Any additional costs of cleaning soft furnishings may be added as deemed necessary by management.

NO PETS
Pets are not permitted in the grounds of the property.

NO PARTY POLICY
We have a strict no party policy.
The apartments are rented to you based on the understanding that you adhere to the maximum number of guests and that no visitors are allowed after 11pm. Any breach of these conditions may result in guests being asked to leave without a refund.
Any damage or extra cleaning required will result in additional charges. Thank you for your cooperation.

CHILDREN
Special arrangements can be made for children of any age. Please enquire with reception at the time of making the
reservation.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

If in the event that Balmain Wharf Apartments cannot provide the apartment accommodation as requested, we will assist with finding alternative accommodation in another apartment at the same property or another Balmain Wharf Apartments location. In extreme cases we will relocate guests to a nearby hotel of similar or better standard (including transportation) or offer a full refund.

In the event that a guest fails to pay immediately upon demand any amount owing to Balmain Wharf Apartments, pursuant to the booking and accommodation (including without limitation those incidentals such as telephone, cleaning, etc. set out above) Balmain Wharf Apartments reserves the right to deny access to the guest and ask that they vacate the premises.

If in the event that a guest has caused damage to the property or effected other guests / occupants of the property, Balmain Wharf Apartments reserves the right to ask that guest to leave and forfeit any monies paid and will require the guest to pay for any damage caused.

If a guest / occupant behaves in an unacceptable or aggressive manner to other guests / occupants or Balmain Wharf Apartments security staff, or is suspected of carrying out illegal acts on the premises, that guest / occupant will be asked to leave and the appropriate authorities will be notified. All monies paid will be forfeited.

All Balmain Wharf Apartment buildings are secure environments and we do everything possible to ensure security levels are maintained, and we ask that our guests do also. However, Balmain Wharf Apartments takes no responsibility for any personal possessions that are lost, stolen or misplaced whilst on the premises. In that regard, we recommend that our guests obtain an appropriate level of travel insurance.

LIMIT OF LIABILITY

We do our best to ensure your booking arrangements are satisfactory, however Balmain Wharf Apartments does not accept any liability whatsoever for any injury damage, loss, delay, additional expenses or inconvenience caused directly or indirectly by any events which are beyond its control including, but not limited to, war, civil disturbance, terrorism, fire, floods, acts of God, acts of Government or of any other authorities, accident to or failure of machinery or equipment, maintenance requirements or industrial action.
